Oh, and Mason also gave us direct permission to share Shellhead a while back (which we asked about specifically since they got a redesign for H3) so I'm fairly certain this stuff is in the clear

Since Fishing Club is public now, decrypting RPGmaker games is obscenely easy, and Mason is fine with people discussing the internals of older games like H1, I think it's fairly safe!
If he reaches out and let's me know otherwise I'll take it down immediately. Always trying to be conscientious!

Nearly a year ago, on January 30th, @s-for-sprinkles.bsky.social was allowed to reveal the full design of #hylics 2's cut character, Instar. These sprites were completely wiped from H2's files and had to be given by Mason directly.

Thus, January 30th is international Instar day!!

The first trailer for #hylics 2 shows Decres dancing with Old Wayne in what seems to be the Afterlife. This terrain was identified by @s-for-sprinkles.bsky.social as being here in the final game's Afterlife.

The shawl on Wayne's alternate costume, formerly known as "Decres," was actually hand-drawn.
From Mason in Hylicord, "I never figured out fabric simulation in Blender so I hand-drew the shawl on each frame. Maybe it's better in new Blender. Or I need to find some fashion design software."

This sprite is also substantially older, maybe a couple years older if memory serves properly. Could have also been a lack of experience making characters with isometric movement or a slight change in method/art style.
