I see all these videos of ICE and other troops pushing, shoving, gassing, pepper spraying protestors who appear to be completely peaceful and I wonder… Do they actually think they are “stopping crime”, “keeping the peace” etc? Or did they just sign up to hurt people for fun? Looks like the latter.

The only violence I’ve been seeing in Portland is from the so-called Feds!!!

Keep sharing these videos; it’s evidence.

Israeli officials are openly defying Trump’s so-called Gaza “peace plan.” The defense minister says bombing will continue after hostages are returned and that Gaza’s tunnels will be destroyed “under U.S. supervision”. Call it what it is, it’s not peace, but a US backed siege.

On this day in 1951, Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip attended a 15-minute exhibition game at Maple Leaf Gardens between the Maple Leafs and the Chicago Black Hawks. The game was played to raise money for charity, with Elizabeth sitting in a specially-made Royal Box.
A black-and-white photograph showing Princess Elizabeth, shaking hands with a hockey player wearing a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey. A Union Jack flag is draped in the foreground. Several men in formal attire, including one who appears to be Prince Philip, stand nearby. A crowd is visible in the background, suggesting a formal event or ceremony.

Epidurals are rare in Japan, where some believe that women who endure childbirth without pain-relief enjoy closer bonds with their children. Hoping to nudge up the number of babies being born, Tokyo govt has begun rolling out subsidies to help women pay for epidurals and chip away at that stigma
To Tackle a Baby Shortage, Tokyo Tries Easing the Pain of Childbirth
The Japanese capital is rolling out subsidies for epidurals in a country where cost is a barrier and women are often encouraged to endure the pain of delivery.

In 1911, Angelina Napolitano killed her abusive husband. While she was sentenced to death, public outcry led to the commuting of her sentence.
Her case brought national awareness to the issue of domestic abuse in Canada.
This is her story.

No one’s against ICE or immigration enforcement. They’re against ICE being comprised of fascist high school bullies who couldn’t cut it in the military and think that shooting pastors in the head with plastic bullets, for no reason, is acceptable.

"This was all about some ugliness that we’re not part of. We’re not in politics. We’re just some guys in Virginia making good whisky. But unfortunately, we’re the victims."

Everyone is "in politics" in a democracy.

Tell these American whisky guys to vote harder or cope harder.

"But then demand crashed as the centuries-long friendship between the United States and Canada broke down amid bruised feelings over tariffs and President Donald Trump’s threat to make Canada the 51st US state."

The arrogance and ignorance of this statement is breathtaking.

The headline about poor American "innocent bystanders" being victimised by horrible Canadian meanies and dismissing the Canadian response to existential threats to their country as "bruised feelings" is revealing about the sneery attitude the US has towards its Northern Neighbour.
