I said a year ago, when FIFA give Trump a World Cup trophy, that Canada needed to dump this event.

Of course, we didn’t and now Canadian tax dollars are going to support the Trump Show.

But we don‘t want to piss off the football fans, do we?

Greenland’s PM today:

"One thing must be clear to everyone: Greenland does not want to be owned by the United States. Greenland does not want to be governed by the United States. Greenland does not want to be part of the United States," Nielsen said Tuesday.

Seems pretty clear to me…

Interesting. A Canadian diplomatic trip makes American news.

I doubt we’ll “pivot” to China as much as their official media would like, but it’s all part of the plan to escape Washington’s clutches.

If the Brits are in, we’d better be too. Enough is enough.
The United Kingdom and Germany are literally considering sending troops to Greenland to try and calm US threats.

What the hell are we doing? Why are we turning our closest allies against us?

I’m assured that Alberta Command HQ is investigating.
Sent to RCL HQ:

As a Legion member & a disabled veteran, I want to know why the Castor Br is hosting a “talk” by AB separatists. This flies against all the RCL has stood for for over a century.

This isn’t the first time that RCL branches have hosted dubious orgs & Nat’l HQ needs to get a grip.
I have no pull with the RCL, but this is a *horrible* look.

This is what really sticks in my craw around unification discourse. It inherently advances that claim to the superior moral value of American history and the American experiment, rather than acknowledging the moral value of Canada’s own historical journey and its underlying principles.
And it's taken as given that the US is in some sense a superior country -in moral value-. Not just in objective metrics like population or GDP, but that America's moral value is greater than Canada's, that Canada’s culture and political tradition can be extinguished without any real loss.

If the assertion was the least bit true, the US would have fully reactivated Keflavik years ago and coordinated more basing options in Greenland itself.

It’s complete bullshit from Trump.

I wasn’t a fan. He *hated* the CAF and anything to do with defence and it’s still costing us.

However, his stand on Iraq was the correct one and he spoke with stellar clarity once Trump started his annexation threats.

Somewhere, sometime soon, the US is going to discover that it isn’t omnipotent and that there are limits to hard power.

They have ongoing strikes against ISIS, a massive presence in the Caribbean, troops throughout East Asia, threats against NATO and Greenland to sustain, and *now* Iran?
Trump tells Iran that he will "hit them hard" if they kill protesters.

Meanwhile, back at home, Trump is celebrating his own law enforcement agencies killing protesters.
