Friendship isn’t half the holy life, it’s the whole of it.

Listening to two old guys talk about their wives and food…”I love chili but Kathy doesn’t. She can’t do beans.”

I wonder what else Kathy can’t do…

My great grandmother’s grave in Lakeview Cemetery, Seattle. She left behind four children, her only daughter was my grandmother. I gave her 4 sunflowers to remember them.

Our stories start somewhere. Mine started here, before I was born. I have been its witness. Now it’s my turn to choose.

I got this great selfie with Dayle Olson, met the poet laureate of Oregon (she’s kickass) got to hug Marianne Monson and kept my soul moving towards the light.

Well, you have a standing invitation to the ranch. You can look up Girlfarm and see where it is. The owners are queer and run a Hipcamp too, there’s a few tiny homes on the property and the vision long term is to offer retreat to writers and artists.
Dang, I’d love to meet up. I’m currently living on a ranch in the wilds of Nevada, splitting time with Oregon. Do you have any travel to the west coast coming up?
Congratulations on being named a finalist for a Lammy! That’s fantastic. Nice to see you around too! I missed your presence when I left Insta.
The lions at the gate get fiercer, the closer you get to home.

September 6th, 6 p.m. at Bellingham’s fabulous Village Books, I’ll be joining the talented author Lyanda Lynn Haupt in conversation about my latest book, Sylvan Crone, and likely our common passions of nature connection, nature writing, and the wonders of birds.

I spent 2024 grieving my father’s death and reflecting on my connection to Nevada.

The year resulted in me making a poetry film that considers how landforms have shaped my story.

It just got selected for the Nature and Culture Poetry Film Festival in Denmark!

Love isn’t what you say, it’s what you do.

I don’t love them either. They are professional stalkers with moderately effective programs.
