The man was home on a sentence stay and, because Locke refused the agreement, had to go back to prison just to see the Parole Board. #mapoli

There is no end to the false narratives the government will tell about people to justify oppression. But we must focus on whether the government should EVER have the power to violate human rights. If the answer is “sometimes,” then we have given officials the license to manufacture these excuses.

People sometimes ask exonerees, "How did you SURVIVE all those decades in prison, knowing you were innocent, with people in power working to keep you in a cage?" Some point to the support of their loved ones, many to the importance of resistance, and all to the necessity of hope. Wisdom for us all.

It’s unsurprising that an attorney general/prosecutor is doing everything he can to prevent someone from telling their story of wrongful conviction to the legislature. We face resistance at every level, regardless of the strength of the evidence of innocence.
