"We take a look at your company and think about a number that you are probably willing to pay" - @steipete.me succinctly sums up why enterprise prices often don't appear on vendor websites. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lF7...

Discovered that a whole bunch of business books by the likes of Morgan Housel, James Clear et al are being ripped off on AliExpress and dropshipped to uk via ebay. Looks like they're all badly printed on wafer thin paper. Sellers with like 100k items sell one of these and then a load of random tat.

Another day, another bot. How do people deal with this? I'm self hosting at the moment.
I swear I'm getting spam signups to my ghost newsletter even with double opt-in enabled. To the point of more than actual users. Has anyone dealt with this before?

Just encountered what I think is the worst educational blog post. It went something like this: "In order to fix it I had to change this one setting and it solved everything."

And that's it, end of post - minus any useful information. I mean it was on medium, so figures.

Loved listening to this interview with Fatboy Slim where he really digs into how he made all his music on an Atari ST. So cool that his latest track "Satisfaction Skank" was done the same way. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-UO...

Was beaming throughout as I basically lived big beat in my teens. 😀

Paddle payments via Paypal stopped working on a site I migrated to Django. Wrote some words on fixing it if you're facing the same.

Can't believe its taken til 21st for me to update my footers to "2026". Getting slack in my old age.

Are spam bots clever enough to get round double-opt in these days? Seeing suspicious (to me) activity on my newsletter sign ups.

HP made a PC in a keyboard, like the olden days. Unlike the olden days it's an "AI" PC, which from the looks of it means it has a Co-Pilot button: uk.pcmag.com/desktop-pcs/...
I Spent a Week With HP's EliteBoard G1a, a Desktop PC Stuffed Into a Keyboard
This new AI "desktop" from HP hides in plain sight, with a design that takes inspiration from classic computers like the Commodore 64 or VIC-20. I got the chance for an extended first look at it befor...

In 2026, I want to get out and see people IRL. I've been locked in my Harry Potter dev space under the stairs for far too long. Would love suggestions for dev or maker events should I be going to? - feel like I miss them all!
