I don’t compete with anyone or anything except for my own hair (always on “stage” before me and my intellect) and my LinkedIn profile (receives much more attention than my publication list where the real evidence and arguments lie).

Am I the only one finding grammarly more annoying than it is useful? It’s like the digi-version of a constantly nagging child pulling your skirt, not staying where I place it and always over what I’m writing. Unsolicited advice machine. Majority of revision suggestions are c..p too. #rantingacademic

For design practitioners though finding paying clients is tricky because the work is v diff than “normal” design consulting. If you’re motivated to transform the status quo, that is. But Falay managed to get quite significant tenders from Sitra (Finnish Innov Fund) and Prime Minister’s office.

In Finland companies don’t commission transitions research and transitions research should happen in arenas, not only in industry. We can be valuable partners in govt funded research projects. Often not packaged as transition design or design but as area expertise, eg energy transitions etc.

Bobo has served our family for about 50 years; first my sister then I played with him. Then it stayed in a box for around 20 years. Last week we closed my mum’s home (she cannot live on her own anymore) and I just couldn’t throw Bobo away. Now, 2000 km away from its origins, he found a new friend.
