Not sure how I would do that. Like, what kinds of ideas?

Welcome! Most of my drawings are concepts for my fantasy setting, inspired by early history and mythology.
And I agree, there's a lot of interesting and cool (whether clever or nonsensical) things people have done historically. For me, it's a bottomless well of amusement and creative inspiration.

snek man officer in jade armor (mainly decorative, akin to the Mycenaean boar tusk helmets)

They tend to be more "chill" than most other kinds of troglodytes, and are even known to cooperate with the humans who live there. It helps that the two species share a veneration of the live-giving fire under the earth, without which survival in the frozen waste would be impossible.

Arctic variety of troglodytes
They live inside glaciers and near hot springs, and they use blood magic (especially their own blood) to create heat.

I like to think that the reason falmer are never seen using any dwemer things is that they consider dwarves a great and ancient evil, and their works an abomination. The few tribes that adopt dwemer tech are feared and hated by the others.

based on the second sketch in this lineup of imperial faces

their land is lush and mountainous, and they traditionally worship a great serpent denounced by the imperials as "the false dragon" (the "true" dragon being the phoenix emperor)
their ancestry is close to that of the "cat" people

fairy paladin (meant to be a hero unit for the fairy rts, they're about 3-4 times the size of a sprite)
prolly not gonna use these since they don't fit the vibe i have in mind, nor the current art style of the game really

Incarnation (CW blood, implied gore/death, birth)

(to clarify, this is not meant to be pornographic or whatever other than the incarnate deity's body, it's just a worldbuilding idea for one of the ways the troglodytes may practice worship and especially blood sacrifice)

also also, I just realized that the decorative bristles might serve a double purpose of some additional sensory input: they let the wearer feel for walls/ceilings before fully colliding with them. And maybe it could also help to perceive air movement?

I don't think I ever posted this one outside of one elder scrolls discord server
My design for the daedric prince Sanguine, loosely inspired by his depiction in Daggerfall and Oblivion.

also, just got the idea for weird kirkbridian lore wherein falmer are the biggest silk exporter in Tamriel, and the reason silk is so highly valued is because of who falmer are and where they live
iggythepopobawa.bsky.social
i think i like that it turned out vaguely reminiscent of the ancient nord armor style (or at least the official concept art for it)
it makes some sense, considering that the two races live in the same place and share quite a bit of history with each other
iggythepopobawa.bsky.social
falmer armor
the bristles are designed to make the armor less noisy, which is very important for falmer warfare (and general spatial awareness of the wearer)
the helmet is outfitted with sound-catching bowls, which can be removed if needed

These mutations have since been mythologized as divine blessings, and perpetuated/exaggerated through selection and mythopoeia (belief-magic)
I think this sort of "plausible deniability" for fantastical elements thematically works better for my setting
