Gov’ts spent USD 1.1 trillion subsidizing fossil fuels in 2023. While measures differ in design, the effect is the same: fossil fuels prices don’t reflect their real costs.

#COP30 is set to close in two days, and the Brazilian presidency is confident that the gavel will fall on time, or early.️

Such a conclusion would be an outlier: Since 1995, only 4 COPs ended early or on time.
