I also read that certain programs can also cause this issue and prevent steam from opening. This includes Razer synapses and Xbox extended feature support.

Perform a full search for the file "update_hosts_cached.vdf" on all drives. It can be literally anywhere from what I heard. Delete it (or back it up), then try launching steam again

A difference worth mentioning between online and in person ID check is that while the person behind the counter looks at your ID for like 5 seconds and gives it back, the online company just copies it and never promises to delete said copy.

We're now finding out that as many as 70,000 people had their government IDs provided to prove their ages leaked by Discord. Like I wrote last week, this is an inherent risk (and made greater by a rushed process) of getting platforms to do age checks

From my POV, the issue was that Cohost was planning to use Stripe for Eggbux without realizing their ToS wouldn't allow it. They just kept it on the back burner till they were notified that Stripe updated their ToS to be more clear, and that's when they realized.

There have been rumors and a few info leaks about Microsoft making a windows 12, tho release dates aren't really known. I'm guessing it could be announced next year given we've known this since I think 2023(?), but I could be wrong. It's just a guess

I speak from experience of running Win7 for another year (cuz win10 failed to upgrade)
Nearly everything will continue to get support on Windows 10 for at least a year. Companies and programmers typically wait till the OS user base is low enough to consider removing support for older OS's.

*Unless you have a computer that plays a very important role in the company you work with and should never be a risk of being hacked or have it's data stolen, in which case you likely wanna upgrade to either win11 or extended updates for win10 (or just use linux, if you can)

As we approach the EOL of Windows 10, I would like to give everyone who still uses it a quick tip:
You do not have to worry about upgrading to Win11 for at least another year.
If you know how to stay away from Malware, you'll be ok. That might work best actually if Win12 comes out in 2026.

Archival argument is pretty bullshit since RetroAchievements isn't about archiving games all. It's all recent user generated data to be added ontop of existing games.

If I wanted an "archive" of Pokemon Clover (I don't), I'd just browse /b/. They're basically the same regardless of year.

HS Pilot thoughts:
- needs 22 minute episodes. Pacing too fast
