I’m very confused as to why Trump’s nominees for cabinet positions have to go through extensive and rigorous questioning and then it has to be voted on by the Senate before they’re allowed to start these jobs, but Elon Musk didn’t have to do any of that and is getting access to so much more

Just throwing this out there because a lot of people don’t know but every state has a States Newsroom- covering how this administration will affect your state directly. My roommate works for the Rhode Island branch and it’s genuinely good, old fashioned journalism

My ONE complaint with BlueSky (other than being forced to have .bsky.social in our usernames) is the discover tab needs a bit overhaul. Every time I refresh it says “there’s nothing more here” and then after 10 minutes there’ll MAYBE be 1-3 more posts. It makes the site feel more dead than it should
