For any servicemember who is unsure what to do if faced with a possible unlawful order IAW UCMJ, “The Manual for Courts-Martial provides guidance, stating an order is unlawful if a person of ordinary sense and understanding would know it to be wrong or in violation of international or domestic law.”

It’s because one entire political party — and part of the other — is wholly owned by the billionaire class.
"Inside the White House, top advisers joke that they are ruling Congress with an “iron fist,” according to people who have heard the comments. Steve Bannon, the influential Trump ally, likened Congress to the Duma, the Russian assembly that is largely ceremonial."

There's that pesky Constitution again, always getting in the way of Piggy's dictatorial aspirations
Art. I of the Constitution gives Congress the power to make rules and regulations for the armed forces — including codes of discipline and strictures against following illegal orders. You can’t punish members of Congress for articulating those rules. Also protected by Speech and Debate Clause.

This is who she was.
Passionate in her beliefs. Fiercely loyal to her friends. Never afraid to let you know exactly where she stood. The best.

Fun Fact: I remember arguing with her over which of us hated Piggy the most. I was sure I did. She disagreed. It remains unresolved...
Carrie Fisher was the blueprint.

Trump wrongly indicted me. I’ll rightly impeach him.

Impeachment isn’t just an option, it’s a necessity. I know firsthand the lengths Trump is willing to go in order to silence dissent — but is it working?

Sounds funny today, but not long ago, the use of bicycles by women was considered *extremely* radical & dangerous--to be discouraged, even by supporters of women's right to vote.
All bc bicycles allowed women a tiny bit of freedom & mobility, without needing things a male guardian could withhold.
Suffragist and educator Frances Willard riding her bicycle, Gladys (because it made her glad).

“I learned to bicycle when 50... and I think it is one of the best things I ever did. What pleases me is to see other worn-out women take it up, and find a new lease of health and life thereby."

In reality, this is likely a continuation of the "wait Trump out" approach that Europe adopted during Trump 1.0. That said, the tech companies are certainly far too powerful and need to be reined in. America will never do that, but Europe likely will, though it will take new leaders in some places.

Just saw some migrating birds fly by in formation and it was beautiful.

How anyone can live on this earth and not want to protect wildlife, will never make sense to me.

Let's learn some Irish! Today's words come from my attempted breakfast by way of @austintashis.bsky.social who labelled it a "scrambled pancake" 😂

pancóg (PAN-cohk) = 🥞 pancake
briste (BRISH-ta) = 💔 broken

Féach ar mo phancóg briste! (Behold my broken pancake!)

I decided to make a chocolate chip pancake this morning. It did not go well. (My spatula was way too small for the size pancake I made 😑) I covered the whole thing with whipped cream, though, and it tasted just fine 😉

i wonder if people would be less likely to believe negative stories about AI if all of its industry leaders weren’t loudly proclaiming how much they do not give a fuck about privacy or human beings generally
The malwarebytes Google opting-your-emails-into-ai-training thing is not true. The post is based on one bad tweet.

I know anti-tech lamenting is a Bluesky core principle, but please use the same judgement you would for any other clickbait.
