Thank you for letting me review Mr Norton's New Hat and Hank Goes Honk recently! I really enjoyed both.

I Did See A Mammoth is such a fun book! I love keeping on top of books (and spying some to add to my wish list) through the reviews. Thank you!

From Kenneth Oppel, Best of All Worlds is a story of survival, teenage passions and an invisible enemy. What should be a relaxing weekend away from the city turns nightmarish when Xavier and his family wake up to find themselves trapped inside a dome. UKLA members RP for a chance to win #lucky13th

Hi Mat,
We have loved shadowing the Klaus Flugge prize this year! I have emailed you our photos from across the six classes but our winners were: Slug Life (2 classes), The Cafe at the Edge of the Woods (2 classes), The Cat Who Couldn't Be Bothered and The Christmas Mouse.

Same child, different comments.

Yes of course. The children have enjoyed learning new words such as the gutter, vignettes, endpapers etc - right from Year 4 upwards - and it has helped their analytical skills. This example doesn't particularly show that but it's been lovely to witness.

The children are getting more confident with forming their own opinions of, and commenting on, the illustrations too. 🎨

We've been really enjoying it! Thank you.

I read it to my Year 6 class in May (as I always do) and they fell in love it with it and Edward (as they always do)! It's a magical read.

Tonight I am off to an amazing local restaurant who have started a book club where they cook a three course meal from a recipe book and then you can buy the book from the local bookshop. Food and books! The dream! 🤩

Finished The Wrong Shoes ahead of our Staff Book Club next week. Gritty, emotive and relatable for young people today, I can understand why it has been nominated for so many awards. I will read it to my Year 6 class next term. Thank you to Tom Percival for this important read!

Thank you @uklitassociation.bsky.social for my copy of Michael Rosen's Pocket Shakespeare! Perfect for my Year 6s. This year we have already studied Macbeth, Henry V and Romeo and Juliet! 🎭
@michaelrosenyes.bsky.social - I'm looking forward to reading an extract tomorrow to my class!

Sounds great but unfortunately the link doesn't seem to work for me. I would like some colleagues to attend if possible 🙂
