NASA researched giraffe blood vessels to help design space suits.

Giraffes have valves in their blood vessels that stop back-flow of blood.

Applying similar pressure to astronauts blood vessels counteracts the problem of fainting from antigravity.

I don't think an elephant would really be embarrassed about weighing as much as five cars. But it's a very cool fact.
