I didn't like this as much as I thought I would, but it was ok! Go broke, get scammed, hire the scammer as your best man/duelist/teacher, save your wool business while falling in love or whatever. I guess? There's a bit more to it, but this didn't really suck me in. Like I said, it was ok. MM rep !

This was alright! Some parts of it seemed to drag out so long that I wanted to rip my hair out, but I found the setting and main characters interesting/likeable. There was also one particular twist that I liked a lot. Smut ahead, but, like, it was just okay imo. Kinda flowery? FTM and MM rep !

Another cozy fantasy? Imagine that. Facing down extreme dangers and surviving despite the odds, the main character is finally able to retire and start up a new life for himself- becoming the owner of a tavern and meeting new friends along the way. I liked it! MM rep

I had a really hard time finishing this one for some reason, but I did enjoy it overall! Running away with your girlfriend and opening up a bookstore/tea shop? Stop, I'm jealous. Don't know if I'll continue on with the series but any fans of cozy fantasy books with sapphic rep should give it a go !

Will I ever remember to consistently post on here? Probably not, BUT ! I am about to spam post about a few more books I've read this year ✨

Big Bad Wolf series by Charlie Adhara (reread). I love mystery books but add in werewolves and a queer romance? Delightful. I loved the characters, the way the relationship developed throughout the series felt authentic, and the mysteries kept my attention but weren't super stressful imo. M/M rep

Phew, okay. I'm going to be honest, I only finished this series out of sheer stubbornness. The characters weren't super likable (to me), the writing was okay, worldbuilding was interesting, the amount of traumatic experiences the MCs went through eventually had me letting out a resigned sigh-

I'm ALMOST done with the Stars Too Fondly by Emily Hamilton. Paused Mistress of Lies and won't pick it back up for a couple months, methinks- same goes for the Steel Remains. Thinking about starting the Mimicking of Known Successes OR the Lavender House (prolly the former since it's pretty short)

Getting a spell cast on you that ties you to a classmate you don't get along with? Yeah, no, I think I'd actually have an aneurysm. But reading about someone else experiencing it? Giggling and kicking my feet or whateverrr. M/m, slow burn (SPOILER: they aren't together by the end of the book)

So I went from listening to as much tma as possible in a day to listening to one ep a day bc I don't want it to end [screams]

Crafted a new face piece !! It's been so long since I've done a craft with fake flowers- planning to do one with birthday candles soon 🫡✨

Okay, last one! Read this in January (?) and forgot to post about it! I needed something soft and lighthearted and this delivered. A heartfelt story about an adventurer who is ready to settle down and decides to open up a coffee shop. Change can be refreshing and community is everything! Sapphic!

The Tithenai Chronicles! I liked both books, the first being the better of the two imo (tho I adored the side characters in the second book). Arranged marriage? Magic? Mysteries to be solved? All are my bread and butter, so I was very excited to pick these up! They did not disappoint!

Didn't know what to expect for this tbh I just saw t4t and immediately put it on my to-read list. Historical fiction with horror/fantasy elements. As a queer person with lots of hang-ups when it comes to religion, it was a bit cathartic? There's smut, which took me by surprise for some reason.

The story in one sentence: A trans man stuck between a rock (no, like, actually) and a hard place. In all seriousness- I loved this book! Such interesting worldbuilding when it comes to gods, the forms they take, and the people they interact with.

Took a break from listening to audiobooks (still need to make posts about the ones I've finished whoops) and started listening to The Magnus Archives. Started Monday, already on episode 36, having the time of my life

I want to go antiquing so bad ‼️‼️

Okay, all caught up!! Currently reading through The Raven Tower by Ann Lexie, The Steel Remains by Richard K. Morgan, and Mistress of Lies by K. M. Enright. Phhhew

My most recent finish! I am so fond of this book, I have no idea why it took me this long to pick it up. Flowery writing, a story told through a series of letters/notes, time travel, sapphic- I usually hate throwing trope buzzwords around outside of my story prompts but "enemies to lovers" does fit

This book!! I loved it! It's another case of "weird pacing, would've been better spread out into multiple books" for me, but maybe I'm just greedy. Writing can be overwhelming/flowery at times, LOTS of worldbuilding, VERY queer, gritty, bold, viva la revolution, etc.
February 6, 2025 at 12:00 AM
This book was honestly not what I was expecting, but I still enjoyed it! Sci-fi for people who typically only read contemporary fiction? Put lightly: An alien abduction, a dysfunctional family, and a tense reunion. Very subtle queer rep?
February 5, 2025 at 11:43 PM
I keep forgetting to post once I'm done with a book so I'm gonna spam post as a little catch up! To start: The Sky On Fire! Liked it, weird pacing imo but I enjoyed the world building. Would've been better if the story was spread out into multiple books? Polyam/sapphic !! There be dragons, of course

Second book (novella) on my 2025 reading list finished! I wish I liked it more than I actually do- I mostly just think my storytelling preference got in the way of fully enjoying it. Well-written, a diverse group of characters (ace rep, trans rep), and an interesting setting.
