Video games, video game music, compelling stories, and tasty food. All I wanna do is #demo you.
I played through Road 96. Really enjoyed getting to know the goofy cast of characters who lighten the mood in this otherwise dark depiction of desperate teens trying to flee an oppressive regime.

The Needs is the latest city pop album from the composer of Paradise Killer, and it’s a fun listen. #gamemusic

Ooo is an interesting puzzle/platformer where you can only jump by setting off bombs. The #demo featured some cool puzzles.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is an average soulslike about slaying the undead with a small fox god by your side. I like the responsive controls and agile traversal abilities, but overall It’s just ok. #demo

The Ascent is a solid cyberpunk twin stick Action/RPG with very nice graphics. Worth checking out before it leaves Game Pass again. #demo

I finally tried Blue Prince, an addictive roguelite puzzle game about finding a hidden room in an ever changing mansion. I didn’t get very far, but I learned something new in each run, and I’m eager to keep going. #demo

Twilight Monk is a fun Action/RPG in the vein of Zelda 2 with towns, a world map, dungeons, and monster battles on the field. I enjoyed the #demo.

Inayah: Life After Gods is an average metroidvania with excellent animation and somewhat stilted and grating voice acting. The art style is not my thing, but it plays well enough. #demo

Sonokuni is Hotline Miami meets Japanese biopunk and it's as visually weird as it sounds. It can be frustrating, but it's satisfying when you nail a room. #demo

and Roger is the first game I've completed in 2026 and it's a doozy. It's only a little over an hour long, but what an emotional gut punch, and what an effective way to talk about a difficult subject through game mechanics.

Despite wasting 169 hours of my life in DS2, I still managed to finish 29 games or DLC in 2025. Promise Mascot Agency was easily the best 2025 game I finished, but I loved Star Wars Outlaws, and SF6 and VS kept giving in 2025. Kirby Air Riders was the best pleasant surprise.

I spent the last several days finally catching up on Vampire Survivors. I loved the additional Castlevania Adventure Mode content, new weapons, and new character unlocks, but the other updates didn't do much for me. Still an amazing game, but bugs need to be addressed.

I also watched Wake Up Dead Man which might be the best of three (certainly much better than the second). In addition to the engaging mystery, the movie does a pretty deep dissection of faith which I found interesting.

I watched One Battle After Another, a kinetic, frenetic film about a revolutionary trying to save his daughter from their family's past. The pacing and staccato reminded me of Uncut Gems even though it's a very different movie.

I built a new gaming PC earlier this year. Maybe not the best investment. Apparently the only full game I played on Steam was a a little bit of Baba is You, and I also tried 12 demos. #SteamReplay2025

Finished Metroid Prime 4. So many pieces of it are so good, but there's no cohesion and it feels like there was no one at the helm and all those good pieces were Frankenstein-ed together at the end. Took me 35 hours despite what this image says.

I'm about 80% through Metroid Prime 4 and enjoying it. It's more of a 3D Zelda game with extra backtracking than a Metroid game in terms of structure, but it feels so good to play that I don't mind.

Can we talk about how absolutely crazy it is that the new Mega Man game is still coming to PS4 and Xbox One in 2027, 14 years after those consoles were released? #TheGameAwards
December 12, 2025 at 6:14 AM
My thoughts on #TheGameAwards: Really well done show, but the heavy presence of F2P games hurt the vibe. Big show if you're a Capcom fan (how much did they spend?). As expected, Squenix was a no-show oustide of a Nintendo ad, but at least two new Tomb Raider games are coming.
December 12, 2025 at 5:40 AM
I'm going into #TheGameAwards will low expectations. It will be nice to finally see the new Tomb Raider game, and the continued hype for 007 is also nice, but otherwise I'll just be looking for pleasant surprises of stuff I've never heard of.

Put 10 hours into Metroid Prime 4. First couple hours are meh, but gets better after you get the bike. Visual style is excellent with a truly alien world, and the game feels good to play. Puzzles have been pretty tame so far, but combat remains challenging. #demo
