Listened to an interview with the director of a musical about Händel and Hendrix (who lived at neighbouring addresses in London) and she didn't know how to pronounce Händel.

The first syllables of Händel and Hendrix are the same.

What happened in #Hounslow just now then? Two cop cars and four or five ambulances all with blue lights flashing behind the shopping centre at the Grove/Hanworth Road junction.

Anyone else notice that in last night's #Casualty, the word 'rape' wasn't mentioned even once despite that being the whole story?

The closest it got was Siobhan saying she'd been attacked then gone to a 'SARC' (sex abuse referral centre). Most people don't know what that means.

It's not just cars that are affected by invasive bus lanes, LTNs and similar fads; truck drivers are as well.

And "congestion for cars" means congestion for pedestrians and residents.
Low Traffic Neighbourhoods increased London congestion, TfL says
Extra bus lanes and low-traffic zones increased congestion for private cars, TfL says.

That said, there used to be an "independent grammar school" in Croydon which was in two delapidated houses with a third in between which was derelict, and shut down in 1994 after a safety inspection. It was a fire trap and they couldn't afford to fix it. #Casualty

So #Casualty is doing a story on a collapsed school roof and it's a slate roof on a grammar school - not the RAAC roofs on postwar schools which are actually liable to collapse.

The Sun gets its priorities right: the pub industry just can't survive if drink driving allowances are reduced, public safety be damned.

How is it that petrol prices are going down, despite the attack on one oil producer (Venezuela) and civil unrest in another (Iran)? Usually when there's war or tension in oil-producing countries, the price goes up.

Just driven from New Malden to Croydon and back and some of the roads are scary. We had a dusting of snow two nights ago and some of the roads and pavements as still skid pans. Waitrose car park in Worcester Park is in parts dry and in parts icy. Was told it's the council's

The people clamouring for Alaa Abdel-Fattah to be stripped of his birthright citizenship on grounds of anti-British tweets are not giving the British a good name with their opinions on Anthony Joshua and his two departed friends.

Haven't had brussels sprouts in years, so I bought some today to chop up and mix in with other things (because the "meat & two veg" context isn't the only use for them). Couldn't believe how cheap they were: 70p a kilo, or 17p for enough for two meals.

Please remember when sharing pictures from #Sudan and other countries where there are wars, genocides or similar, that naked pictures of children (meaning under-18s) are illegal to reproduce or share in the UK and many other places.
