What's in the Comprehensive Plan? This long story summarizes the four parts using audio from an August 26, 2025 work session. There are about 117,000 people in Albemarle and a very, very small fraction have participated in the creation of what planning staff call AC44.

In 2022, Riverbend Development filed for a rezoning for property near the Virginia Eagle distribution facility near U.S. 29 and I-64 border. The public hearing before Albemarle Planning Commission will be on September 9. There could be as many as 1,200 homes.
