Another day, another #auk. The Black guillemot (Cepphus grylle) is born black+fluffy, with several years before developing its bright red feet fully. These are associated with sexual maturity @2-4 y/o 👣

Black guillies are widespread in the N.hemisphere and are arguably the best #seabird 😉 #Auktober

8 months and 1 week since I submitted a manuscript to Wetlands Ecology and Management @springernature.com @springer.springernature.com. At least 4 weeks since they received reports from 3 reviewers. You'd think they would have a decision by now.
