Daily Spanish practice thread on twitter came out nice today. Not sure I will replicate it here - not seeing clickbaity tweet threads 24-7 is quite a cosey experience.

All this because I decided to learn Spanish 5 years ago.

4 years in, I meet a kid who has become fluent in 9 months.

I was so jealous of his progress. I couldn't speak at all at this point. How??

He was "talented".

And now I'm like him.

It's not talent.
It's possible for everyone.

My partner and I discovered tonight that "mhm" as a nonverbal affirmation exists in English and Spanish.... is it universal?

I am theorizing immense evolutionary pressure in finding a way to say "yes" while sipping coffee...
