Today is Intersex Awareness Day- a day to honour truth, visibility, and pride. Intersex people are born with sex characteristics that don’t fit typical definitions of male or female. These innate variations of sex characteristics are natural, diverse, and part of the human spectrum.

Nominations for the 2025 Darling Award are now open. Each year on Intersex Awareness Day, we award "the Darling" in recognition of outstanding intersex allyship. The Darling will be presented to an organisation, institution or individual that demonstrates a commitment to action on intersex human rights beyond merely affirming the Darlington Statement.
