The #anchor motif on a grave often signifies a sailor.
This grave is for Captain Donald Brotchie, who moved to Greenock in the 1850s and remained there till he died. The plaque was stolen but recovered in 2018

The missing plaque from the grave was stolen & recovered by police. It is now in the collections of the McLean Museum / Watt Institution.
