i'd be cool with halloween and christmas decorations being up a month or two after the holiday, actually i'd be entirely about that, but having them up a whole season before the one they're actually meant to commemorate flattens the aesthetic and turns them into department store wallpaper

actually you know what i've discovered about myself it's not the duration of the holiday seasons that bothers me it's that the major holidays tend to kick off seasons or come around their peak and so putting up the decorations a month *before* just feels unseasonal and joyless to me
