These are the kinds of resources your gift can bring to life.

We set a goal of $5,000 this summer to expand this work, and while we’re doing well overall, we’re not close to that goal yet. No matter what, we’ll keep building resources every month.

Irene DeMaris joined with others to deliver a letter to Zach Nunn's Des Moines office today about the PERMIT Act. Other supporters visited offices in Dubuque & Cedar Rapids. We hope you'll learn about this bill & consider contacting your elected officials soon to oppose it. elpc.org/news/callin...
Together, we are urging Iowans of faith to raise their voices through their action alert. Tell your Representative to Vote NO on the PERMIT Act. Protect Iowa’s water, communities, and health. secure.everyaction.c...

Protect Clean Water. Stop the PERMIT Act.
Congress is moving forward with a dangerous bill that threatens Iowa and our clean water. We need your voice now.

This action alert comes from our close friends and partners at the Environmental Law & Policy Center @elpcenter in Iowa. Iowa Faith & Climate Network has shared an office suite with ELPC for decades, and we are in constant collaboration for justice and the health of our planet.

For more than 50 years, the Clean Water Act has safeguarded Iowa’s water for drinking, farming, recreation, and wildlife. We cannot afford to roll back these protections now.
4/6

* Raise the cost of safe drinking water for families and businesses
* Increase unsafe waterways for swimming, fishing, and recreation
3/6

The PERMIT Act would:

* Allow more toxic chemicals, like pesticides and PFAS, to pollute Iowa’s rivers and lakes
* Strip protections from wetlands and small streams that filter pollution and reduce flooding

ACTION ALERT! The U.S. House of Representatives is considering the Promoting Efficient Review for Modern Infrastructure Today Act (“PERMIT Act,” H.R. 3898).
