Below is a sneak peak for the posted chapter!

“Do you have an actual name then? I can’t read it well but I see you wrote it out like a normal letter with a sign off.” They froze, shying further into themself by pulling up their legs close.

“I, can’t really just brush this off and say I’m Dream to you, can I? Pretend I was feeling ill or something” The other snorted, looking to the ceiling a moment with an expression and taste they couldn’t dare try to figure out.

“Not really no, I think you’ve established well enough that you aren’t for awhile now.” The other stayed silent, looking to the floor.

He’d been called many things, sure, and accepted them all in stride. If he was Dream then that’s who he was. Dressing up to hang out with friends and addressing his brother in the middle of a fight poised to action. If they called out for the guardian he was there bow in hand and defenses raised in alert as they reached out for those in need of them. If he was a god then even if he didn’t wish for it he’d put on that damn fancy garb with his sibling and step out onto the festival podium, speech written out in hand. If he was the secret harlot who could run anyone dry in mere moments with a look and the right bit of pointed energy released then he’d damn well play his part dressing up in all of those feathers and jewels as he ushered the other away to rest. Giving quiet promises he’ll feed them both well for months.

They, didn’t ever try to wander outside that box. Walk around in the open hardly ever without his assortment of masks and roles handed off to them. This had been the first time in a, embarrassingly long time he’s misjudged a situation, much less talked to another. They felt as lost as the first time the glitching one had asked them the question.

#Irlrambles #IRLUpdates Finally at our dads place! Staying overnight before heading home, but here's our haul of everything we got! For context, we had been in New York for Comic con! It was so much fun but def. very overstimulating. Very worth it though!

#FicUpdates So honestly, Chapter 19 will get posted when able...but it might be Sat/Sun. Getting out of the airport, running around and eventually checking into the hotel has left us with a headache and super drained. I was really hoping to not be pushing it so badly but stuff kept on happening.

Gametime with friends got shot w/ piss poor internet so I broke in the new apple pencil by working on the chp.4 fic scene! It's turning out rrly well so far, just need to moove around the fantasy stuff a lil.

Digital sketch color codded for layers, Dream's finally getting into overstimulation territory here letting his fantasies overcome him.

The original traditional sketch, Where I wasn't originally going to have the fantasy senarios shown at all but I was having trouble figuring out a bedframe design/set up so when deciding to make this digital I swapped it out. I think it was definetly the right call in the end.

#IRLrambles OMG I went to nab hairdye after work today cus we were out and went to the disc replay nearby just to look, and they had the apple pencil we needed for our Ipad for only $35USD!! Snatched it instantly and the quick test seemed fine so yall might get some digital between the traditional!

Puffing his cheekbones the god tried to relax best he can, deciding to grab another one of the souls looking to the walls across the way over the bed. It wasn’t like there was much else they could do right now, and the only one watching only seemed to be actively encouraging the behavior that Dream wasn’t entirely sure he could honestly reasonably stop by now. Not without a hefty fight with his own damn body, which isn’t what he exactly wanted.

Just, let his mind wander the destroyer said right? He could do that, sure. He had years of practice for that. It wasn’t like he was alone after all, it’d be ok…

As the slight falling sensation of slipping out indicated to him he'd done as asked, the god tapped his foot.

What was he doing, really?

How in the fuck was he going to cover up agreeing to work with Error, of all people? All because what, he wanted some company after being so foolish and mistaking that Blue was leaving him for an indiscriminate amount of time?

Why did the thought of his friend leaving him hurt so much. Stars why did Error leaving freak them out so much? He understood that a part of it was from his misconceptions of the note but it still felt stronger than it should have been for someone they barely knew.

Enough to practically agree to deal that definitely was going to go against his teams ideology and get him in major trouble with the other two he’s sure.

Dream paused, perusing through his thoughts and feelings a little more thoroughly. Even trying to double check himself with furrowed brows. No, that-

The god looked down at his little mental checklist and notebook. Looking at how the stuff on it was labeled clear as day despite how many times he checked.

He really was being too selfish.

#FicUpdates Finally finished up chp. 18 for Recovery is a wheel of cheese! I just need to reread it tomorrow and then it'll be formatted properly into Ao3 and posted!! This one came out pretty well I think for sorta of switching up from what I initially planned.(I like to wait a bit before revising)
