The first photo shows Tsomaia alongside Zviad Gamsakhurdia, Georgia’s first democratically elected president, and Zviad Kostava, another leader of the national liberation movement.

Back then, Tsomaia was an active supporter of their cause and later led The Party of Zviad the Liberator.

🟥 Oct 24, Vienna — On the 285th day of her unlawful imprisonment, Mzia Amaglobeli, founder of Batumelebi/Netgazeti, was honored with the 2025 World Press Freedom Hero Award alongside six other journalists. The award was accepted by Tamar Rukhadze, deputy director of the outlets.

🚨 In #Tbilisi, around 10 police officers stopped and searched two young women - simply because one of them was wearing a medical face mask.
Police finally let them go - only after one of them took off her medical mask to show her dental treatment and their K-pop concert tickets.

It is sheer hypocrisy that such a man is being locked behind bars on absurd charges. He is accused of attempted seizure of a strategic or specially important facility by a group, and participation in group violence. These charges carry a penalty of up to six years in prison.

🛑 Irina Imerlishvili stepped down from her position with 11 months left in her term.

🛑 The GD plans to file a Constitutional Complaint seeking to ban around 10 opposition parties.
It is unclear whether Imerlishvili’s resignation is connected to this case.
