This might be the first of these second seasons I'm finishing up that just did not hit for me like the first. Still had a fun time, but the way it handles its topics falls flat for me here. At least the theming is still clear and present.

Most of the internet used to be like this. This is actually the default, it took companies enclosing the internet and adding weird, soul-killing incentives to make people behave the way they do now. In a way, there is truly nothing special about Wikipedia except that it survived longer.

Broadly I don't give a Shit about Gilbert. This has always been true. For something about this adaptation specifically: I fucking hate how the faces look 90% of the time and they get less expressive in the back half.

I enjoyed this more than I had anticipated, the early parts stir something up in me. I love that first book so much. I care less about later stories, and spending so much time in them in an adaptation that just kinda fails for me often is a drain. I'm very mixed here

Personally I feel like being curious (which is a skill that can be practiced) will get you a lot further than being “smart” or whatever. I honestly don’t think intelligence exists in the way the world likes to portray it. Everything is a skill that can be learned

I would much rather be represented by drag queens, leather daddies and pups than by petulant cowards afraid of their own reflection. You are talking about people who never had the option of being seen as "normal people who just happen to be gay" and channeled their pain into self expression, community and art. And who are you? You define yourself not in terms of who you are and what you create but in terms of who you are not and what you lack. These people you hate only seem larger than life because your life is too small and insignificant to fit them.
