overall, great changes, and the fact that Affinity is allowed to thrive and be well off without completely sucking Canva’s dick is great!

i hope this trend continues that their promise of “free for everyone forever” remains well in good hands.

there is nothing that’s needed at all to enjoy and use Affinity. just that you download and have fun like we have been for the longest time with the previous paid apps.

i am personally really happy that they did this, it means i can recommend the app to even more people without much hassle

you can go download it for completely free, just need a Canva account, which brings me to my next point.

no, you are not paying a dime. the Canva Pro subscription is only there for AI features. so if you’re that opposed to using AI, you can just not pay. it’s entirely optional

the new workflows are sick, and i really appreciate what they managed to do with the Studio system, how it feels just like the pages in Davinci Resolve as opposed to the shitty Adobe-esque Dynamic Link(it was always trash, stop acting like it was ever good)

let me say, first off, Affinity and all of its features are entirely free. the same features that i and millions of others have been using for the last 5+ years are still free, and they’ve even added new ones to boot

for anyone who’s been using this for a while(in my case 5 years), the initial announcement might come as a shock to you. i can already hear the “no! i don’t want AI in my software!”

i have my own thoughts on AI, but i’ll save those since they’re not relevant here.

the switch on the back to set it to WiiU/NS mode doesn’t work. it only works when set to PC mode, and it doesn’t work correctly that way

welp, i just found out my gamecube adapter died. i was about to practice for a tourney comin up next month, and i can’t even use my controller

it actually thinks the stick is the D-pad. i literally cannot move in game.

(for reference i’ve used a mayflash gamecube adapter for the last 6 years)

i’ve noticed i started sucking on pocky as a way to deal with shitty thoughts(mostly stemming from anxiety and general depression), it’s kinda soothing

this quote here perfectly summarizes why i dropped out of college after only a year. institution is great for connections, but does fuck all for actual real world experience unless you go out and search for it yourself, which most don’t unless they actually care to.
