Two paintings by J.M.W. Turner (1775-1851): "The Passage of Mount St. Gothard From the Centre of Teufels Broch (Devil’s Bridge)” (1804) and “The Burning of the Houses of Lords and Commons, 16 October 1834." I thought they might help relieve people from today's strafing run of advertisements.

I finally watched the video. It’s horrible. But no more horrific than the repeated destruction of children, which I don’t even want to imagine. I think of Hosea 8:7, which the Christian nationalists won’t: “They sow the wind and reap the whirlwind.”

Facebook sickened me because every third thing in my feed was an ad. This platform has also rapidly filled up with people trying to sell us something they’re selling. I guess there’s no dependable way to escape money-grubbing because shame has obviously become a worthless word.

I asked ICE where the “413% increase in assaults” justification for its officers using masks came from. They didn’t answer. So I dug into it, and what I found … did not boost their argument.
