Choose my outfit for the reunion!

I blog not just about books but about personal style. It's universal, not restricted by age.

Today I'm inviting you to pop over to my blog and choose your favourite of 3 gamine outfits.

I unsubscribed a long time ago after they backed Joe Rogan over Neil Young after Rogan shared Covid disinformation in his podcast
πŸ’™πŸ“š Good to see Reese Witherspoon on BBC Breakfast with Harlan Coben on writing a novel together. It's significant that she doesn't capitalise on her name with a secret ghost writer. I don't read books by celebrities for this reason.

Happy Publication day to @karenstoreyauthor.bsky.social for The Approval of Sheep. A charming, whimsical and quirky delight. 5 stars.

It would make an excellent film, with Rhys Ifans as....Rhys.

If you love the eerie, meticulously researched books of Michelle Paver, the wait is over!

πŸ’™πŸ“š I can't wait to start The Shadow of the Northern Lights, a Finnish-Icelandic noir by Satu RΓ€mΓΆ. Loved Hildur books 1 and 2.

Thanks to #NetGalley and @bonnierbooks.bsky.social for the advance copy.

Don't be afraid of the #longhorn cattle in Epping Forest.

They're very docile, as long as you don't let your dogs lose among them.

One of the top tipped books in the #BookerPrize short list is Flesh by David Szalay.

I became engrossed in this deeply nuanced novel.

Was surprised how good barrel jeans are. Have 3 pairs now
The weather is mostly idyllic; there's al fresco dining, walks in Epping Forest, an influencer beauty event and a new ebike.

It's London life in August.

The publishing world must be on holiday en masse. No approvals on Netgalley for a couple of weeks.

Shani Wallis was a wonderful Nancy in the Lionel Bart film Oliver!

But although the film had 11 Oscar nominations, the British born actress wasn't among them, thanks to misogyny.

I'm watching it now, I never tire of this film. Shani is now 92.

I love reading about Tudor times. For such recent history, it was wild!
πŸ’™πŸ“š Imagine being dragged to your death from your bed by a bear - in England!

Just one One of the strange deaths reported in Strange Ways to Die in the Tudor Ages, which also includes punishments for crime.

It's not about how long we live. It's about the joy in those years.

Enjoyed Joyspan. A must read for the over 50s.
