I checked on the velocity on the split. It didn’t change much in that one game and neither did the spin rate. Vertical break was about an inch less but what stands out is his release points were a bit lower so that with the difference in break may have been the difference in getting swing and miss.

During the season, the means and averages eventually catch up. The season is just too long to escape that. In the playoffs every moment is huge and the X factor comes into play. It’s hard to measure clutch and how people do in a big moment.

I loved the Jays playing mind games by having Trey walk out to the bullpen in game 4 against the Yankees. That was bad ass.

It’s hard to pin the 5th inning on him. He gave up an infield single and there was an error on the throw to first. Then they had him give an intentional pass to Cal before he got pulled so he’s tagged for 2 more runs that weren’t really his fault.

The stuff wasn’t as good but he navigated it. That’s kind of the point. The home run was unfortunate but he did well after that and left the game tied.

I think he’s shown he can handle just about any pressure. The last few games have been huge tests and even his worst game was still pretty good. He seems to excel under the pressure. And if they lose game 1 then no doubt Gaus can handle the pressure in game 2.

Yup. Been doing it every day. The easy is usually less than a minute, medium maybe a couple minutes and hard varies a lot but I’ve definitely had some times over 10 minutes when I get stuck.

I’m actually watching on the TVs at Brooklyn Bowl during the Umphreys show. 🤦‍♂️ I’ve got a friend in from out of town and committed to doing the show with him a while back. This worked pretty well during game 4 of the ALCS at least and they won that one. Maybe it’s lucky.
