I grew up across the river from Cincinnati so I've got a soft spot for Art Deco or in this case, Art Meco?

Union Terminal in Cincinnati, viewed from the steps leading to its front entrance. The main building is comprised of a semi-circular arch and within it a second arch of windows separated by pillars. An analog clock is at the center of the arch towards the top of the windowed arch.

Big O, one of the remaining Megadeus covered mostly in black armor plating with shielded fore arms that protect pistons that drive its punches. The center of its chest is marked by the gilded cockpit and viewing window.

Just before you think you're about to run out of castle, make sure that the map is reporting as close to 100% exploration as possible. This includes bumping your head on walls etc.

I think the Dub/ReDub didn't do it any favors, like Eva folks like the one they like.

I think of that early 2000's style as oddly betwixt & between 'classic' 80s/90s quality & properly HD anime we get now.

Majestic Prince & Fafner in the Azure come to mind for that style too.

Watching over Ryuu's shoulder as she, Mama Mia, Hedin and Bell battle Ottar was a spectacular sequence.

I'm curious to see how that holds up over the course of the movie. Bringing Tron properly into 'our world' I think NIN can keep some of the electronica elements that you'd expect from a Tron entry but with some griminess since it's no longer such a stylized setting of mostly clean lines & surfaces.

Kids costumes have come a long way too! Though even in a world of ready made LED lit Optimus Prime costumes there'll be a year when your kid has an idea that'll require a bit of ingenuity, various fabrics, craft supplies & no small amount of appropriately colored duct tape to realize. It's fun!

A kid in a homemade brown bat costume compromise of a furry brown vest, some modified 'demon' wings with bat like claws for grabbing, a fuzzy cowl with bit bat ears on it and a fabric half mask with a stereotypical bat mouth and nose on it.

I don't handle horror well so I don't have much in that genre to recommend for Spooky Season. An exception would be Dark Gathering. Cutely styled characters & grisly scenes. I like that in a world terrorized by vengeful spirits there's a girl who's determined to give them a taste of that terror too.

They've tapered off on the big screen but it was only a few years ago that we got a mystery series that wasn't just a monster mash but a public domain mash. Frankenstein's monster, Carmilla the vampire, Holmes, Phileas Fogg & a few original characters with Japanese origins. They sure went for it.

I've not seen Titanic despite being a Millennial & the first full episode of One Piece I ever watched was the live action show. I picked up an issue of Shonen Jump around 2003-ish? featuring One Piece & it just didn't really capture my interest.

They're both significant works, just not my jam.

Durarara's Ikebukoro winds up feeling rather eerie over the course of the series. While outwardly normal, urban legends roam or ride through the streets & newly arrived Mikado finds himself quickly swept up in more than just the hustle & bustle of city life.
