My biggest thing is, it seems to be distanced from its banjo-inspired roots, but I am *100%* certain I will get over it, especially with what I am hearing about DK bananza. So much freaking cake.

Where it won’t eliminate jobs, it will have the same affect as the cotton gin. Since it can write emails for you, you now get to write 300 a day instead of 30-50 with the same pay

Likewise, i never submitted anything other than an email for my discord - am I good?

Someone needs to tell IGN it’s OK to not want to play video games anymore. “ I had to go to the bathroom while playing at, 4/10.”

Its so weird people will see it get 9’s across the board and nothing but positivity from players, even newcomers, but only listen to the one guy who gave it a 5.

In the Death Stranding universe, do you think anyone has figured out how to use timefall to make things like cheese? I bet once the chiralium saturation thing is addressed you’d be looking at darn fine 30 year aged cheddar in a single afternoon.

Need to double check what’s come out but it really does feel like one of the last major switch 1 titles, and what a splendid entry to go out on.

Something something “Holy sh!t, two cakes,” and I’m finding PLENTY of cake to go around these days. Your next favorite cake might just be the flavor you’re turning your nose to, after all. Have a good one!

Ummmm what else I got? I suppose some will want to say "Expedition 33 better" and it's like yea I won't fight you It's clearly a GOTY 2025 contender, in my personal case, after brothership I've also got cassette beasts, OG final fantasy 7, and baldur's gate 3 going at the moment too.

A welcome return to form from a subseries that proves Mario CAN tell a good story (Hint, hint, illumination), but because of it's mammoth size and molasses pace, It's probably gonna be a while before I come back. Whatever, despite everything I freaking loved this one too.

I personally treated each play session as an episode of a tv season, and as such, nothing really felt that tediously padded. Again, a marathon, not a sprint. At $60, and 65 hours of gameplay to 100%, I felt like I got my money's worth.

The game brings enough awesome with its story, content, and battle system (Once the thing starts opening up - it's quite a zen once you start getting your Bros attacks and battle plugs) that it shouldn't be overlooked either.
itsbigtom2277.bsky.social
While it's got some problems that shouldn't be overlooked, notoriously the pacing (Which I understand is mostly due to errors from the team trying to learn to work together) but also some bizarre ones like an unusually low boss count, a lack of a boss rush mode, and some other missed opportunities,

I won't deny a good job when I see one, especially with the Octopath Traveler team having helmed this one. Good is good. 8.8/10.

"But it's a NINTENDO game!" Yes and? I acknowledge their…behavior lately... and while I highly recommend being more picksy-choosy about what full-price games are “worth it” these days, doing your homework on games you'll *actually* give a chance (Which is why I tell you the bad about this game too!)

…to multiple characters, even minor sidequest characters from 28 hours of gameplay ago showing up to cheer YOU on as a sign of gratitude,
when it was all done, I couldn't help but get a little misty-eyed.

While "The Power of friendship" is cliched to death, the game conveys it in a very genuine-feeling way, from helping a mother show support to her son, to a discouraged inventor learning something she discarded as trash was found by and actually helped someone else…

that can easily be interpreted as some poignant commentary on today's screen addicted world. It's not very often you see a freaking Mario game GO THERE, but they did a good job of it, and it's all the more memorable for it.

Yes, a headphone jack, an ethernet cable, and a vga splitter were some of my favorite characters. It’s A simple but effective way to convey the game's theme of bonds and connections, which was actually quite well done, with a genuinely creepy climax to the game as a whole -

Not a "Cozy game" but more like a long TV season of hour long episodes, because just like when a beloved series ends, I am actually going to miss this world and these characters since you spend so much time with them, especially IDLE, technikki, and these three ding-dongs.

I *AM* getting better at spotting frame drops on any console when they happen, but that's also because I'm recognizing enemy tells as soon as I can. Anyhoo, You could say it's a game better played as a Marathon, not a sprint, a "stop and sample the sprinklies in life's salad bar" game.
itsbigtom2277.bsky.social
Some report frame drops here and there, but from my experience, you'll practically only experience it in handheld mode, or with a late game fog effect. Such a thing practically disappears in docked mode or on switch 2 if you have one.

-(Though a similar mission exists, it is salvaged by laying out exactly what you need to do and having some meaningful moments between characters), going back to get the PSG in metal gear, the endgame hunt in metroid prime 2, etc, the game really does begin to pick up steam and merit the positivity.
itsbigtom2277.bsky.social
It is true the game has some pretty gnarly pacing issues, like falling SQUARELY into that "RPG starts off really slow and it takes hours for you to get new toys to whack monsters with" trope, and invites you to downtime a lot, it's nothing like the General white mission of the thousand year door-

🧵🧵Yo-ho, Bro ho! Just wrapped Mario & Luigi Brothership and.... what a phenomenal game! I've always enjoyed the Mario and Luigi games for their quirky blend of platforming and RPGs, not to mention the over the top special moves that would give a certain Final fantasy villain pause.
