To say I was furious would be the understatement of the year, but I kept my mouth shut. Then after the meeting he gave me an “I’m sorry if I offended you” and I just replied that I preferred not to discuss it. Largely because I don’t think I could have restrained my temper.

Then at last night’s meeting he said that DSA has a race problem — which I will stipulate — and blamed it on the trans rights project. He explicitly said “Trans rights is keeping Black and Hispanic people out of DSA.” Boy do I have some MORE news for you about trans people.

There is a member in my DSA chapter who is a detransitioner, and has been trying for months to convince us that we shouldn’t be doing trans rights work because it’s “irrelevant to improving the lives of the working class.” Like boy do I have some news for you about trans people.
