Congressman proudly representing Maryland's Fourth Congressional District.
Praying for the National Guard members injured in yesterday’s horrific attack.

Grateful to the National Guard members & law enforcement officers whose quick action brought the situation under control.

Violence like this has no place in our communities or in our country.

Honored to join Second Baptist Church SW, Giant Food, and incredible volunteers at yesterday’s Thanksgiving food drive. Grateful for the community organizations making sure families have what they need this holiday season. This is what Thanksgiving is all about.

Affordable child care keeps parents working and our small businesses growing. Milestones Enrichment Center’s expansion in Laurel is a win for families and for our local economy. I’ll keep fighting to support quality care and the small businesses that power MD-04.

Today’s ruling is a win for the rule of law. The court made it clear: a rogue, unlawfully appointed prosecutor can’t weaponize federal cases for partisan gain. These charges against Comey and Letitia James never should’ve been filed — and this decision ends the political vendetta.

Marylanders should never have to choose between heat and housing. It’s shameful LIHEAP funds are still frozen while families face dangerous cold. I’m demanding these dollars be released now so our seniors, veterans & working families aren’t left out in the cold.

Loved cheering on the brilliant students at the Robotics Capital Beltway Tournament, hosted by the Area 53 Alien Raiders. Their creativity and passion for STEM are inspiring—and a special shout-out to lead instructor Karen Bogoski for empowering the next generation of Maryland innovators.

Donald Trump and Republicans keep proving they don’t care about working people. Their reckless agenda is raising costs, spiking unemployment, and dragging our economy toward a recession.

D.C.’s pretrial bail system mirrors the federal one — no one is jailed just for being charged, and judges already weigh risk & safety, not wealth. Congress shouldn’t be micromanaging local D.C. laws. If we want fairness & accountability, we should pass D.C. statehood & let D.C. chart its own future.

Thanks to the strong partnership between PGCPS and Prince George’s Community College, more tuition-free college courses will soon become available for high school students in our community. #PGProud

Today was a reminder that no one is above the law. I stood with my House colleagues and voted YES to release the Epstein files. The American people deserve transparency. Read more in my statement below.

Several months ago, I led a letter with the @laborcaucus.house.gov, signed by every House Democrat, demanding the restoration of federal workers’ collective bargaining rights. Now, the House is finally being forced to vote on the bipartisan Protect America’s Workforce Act.

Yesterday, I joined @PoliticsNation to lay out a harsh truth: the shutdown may be over, but families are still getting hit with notices of soaring monthly healthcare costs. This crisis isn’t over.
@HouseDemocrats and I are standing firm and fighting to fix the Republican-made healthcare mess.

I was proud to host our Future Ready Career Fair alongside Council Member Jolene Ivey this past weekend. Thank you to the 600+ students and families who joined us & the various organizations that dedicated their weekend to helping young people explore career pathways & CTE programs.

Marylanders, if you normally receive SNAP on or after Nov. 18, you’ll get your full benefits on schedule. If you normally receive SNAP before Nov. 18, you’ll get at least half your benefits on your regular date.

Remaining benefits will be paid on Nov. 18.

For 43 days, @housedemocrats.bsky.social stood firm to protect America’s health care and lower health care costs. That's why I voted no on yesterday's partisan Republican spending bill that allowed these tax credits to expire. We are not giving up the fight to lower health care costs.

Proud to join @ncnwhq.bsky.social for this year’s #EdTechquity Summit. Black women make up just 2% of the tech workforce—but that’s changing. Together, we’re breaking barriers and building a future where innovation and opportunity lift everyone.

I have been fighting alongside @housedemocrats.bsky.social to cancel cuts, lower costs, and save healthcare. Senate Republicans are ready to walk away & send us a bill that lets those credits expire.

We will not back a bill that makes health care harder to afford or puts profits over people.

At yesterday’s Steering & Policy hearing, I introduced Marylander Bobby Laughlin, who shared how this Republican shutdown is driving up health premiums and cutting off SNAP. His story is one of millions. We need to reopen government and lower healthcare costs.

Maryland is right to sue. Greenbelt won fair and square — the new FBI HQ belongs in Prince George’s County.

The administration’s reversal disregards the law and the process. I’ll keep fighting to bring the FBI home to Greenbelt.
November 7, 2025 at 6:46 PM
The Trump administration steamrolled the law to rip the FBI HQ from Greenbelt. I applaud AG Brown and Prince George’s County for fighting back. I fully support these legal challenges — and I look forward to welcoming the FBI home to Prince George’s County.
