Wrapping up… literally
A production office, a wall of shelves on the right filled with fabric for sets and costumes. On the left, there are two barrels stuffed with rolled up plastic covered bolts of fabric. Each bolt has a tag like “Pack 11 Rolls 1101-1104” or “Wrap Box 14 Pack 6 Rolls 601-602. The closest barrel says, “Wrap Box 14”. Two long racks of costumes, each covered in plastic. The first rack has a label that says, “1. Louis De Pointe Du Lac Ch. 4-72.” There is another label visible on the next rack that says, “Dubai”.

Bogosian gets his wish to play a vampire! Would love to hear your initial reactions to Molloy taking off those contacts… The exterior shots for this scene were shot at the Prague Congress Centre also known as the KCP.
Behind the cameras of a TV studio where Eric Bogosian, in costume as Molloy, is “interviewed” by journalist Leonard Michael, played by David Costabile. Behind the cameras of a TV studio where a camera monitor shows Eric Bogosian, in costume as Molloy. In front of the monitor, crew members obscure Leonard Michael, played by David Costabile, opposite Bogosian. An exterior entrance of Prague’s Congress Centre, modified with set dec signage to represent the “Peachtree Expo Center”. Crew members and camera equipment sit on the left.

Why it must be this lovely painting of 'Storyville' hanging behind the hotel reception desk when Louis returns to New Orleans. ⚜️

For example, this isn’t NoLa…
Jacob Anderson, in costume as Louis, stands at the front desk of the “Oddfellows Inn”, as the actor who plays the Hotel Clerk, Alexander Perkins, talks to Director Levan Akin, behind the desk. The exterior of the hotel with traditional New Orleans architecture, a red “Oddfellows Inn” sign, and a gold luggage cart with red velvet base out front. The interior wall of the Oddfellows Inn set, with a fireplace and 3 arched beams. Teshale Mishretu, Louis’s stand-in, stands at the reception desk of the Oddfellow’s Inn.

While we did actually film some of the New Orleans exteriors in NoLa, many of those scenes were filmed in Prague using movie magic.
A black SUV in front of a green screen in a sound stage, lit from the side with a film light diffuser. A crew member is behind the diffuser, and next to a camera cart by one of the passenger doors.

Santiago’s tenure as Maître is... short-lived.
Ben Daniels, in costume as Santiago, stands with his back towards the camera, facing Louis’s motorbike on an empty street. The camera dolly is positioned behind him in the left corner, while a crew member prepares to roll the manhole cover into the shot in the right corner. A camera monitor shows Ben Daniels, as Santiago, looking slightly off camera, with a smirk.

Old Wastewater Treatment Plant Pt. 2
iwtvwriters.bsky.social
In our 201 thread, we mentioned the Romanian factory set, part of the Old Wastewater Treatment Plant, was reused throughout the season — it’s where Armand threatens Louis (203), frees him (207), and where Santiago hears Louis after the fire (208).
An empty, narrow brick sewage corridor. Director Levan Akin walks down a narrow brick sewage corridor towards the camera.

Jacob may be friends with Ben Daniels, but he certainly looks like he’s enjoying watching Santiago get what’s coming to him…
Jacob Anderson, in full Louis makeup and costume, sits in front of the camera monitor, next to Director Levan Akin. Jacob is holding the headphones under his ears, expressionless, as he watches the scene being filmed. Prague’s Thunovska Street doubled for a street in the Montmartre neighborhood of Paris.
Jacob Anderson, in costume as Louis, sits on Louis’s motorbike in front of the camera dolly. Crew members fill the area behind the camera. Jacob Anderson, in costume as Louis, stands against a stone wall, surrounded by crew members and equipment. The full production set up, including Jacob Anderson, in costume as Louis, camera dolly, crew members, and production equipment, is captured from above, via an elevated street. A camera monitor shows two angles of Jacob Anderson, in costume as Louis, smiling. The shot being reflected on the monitors is being filmed behind them. Crew members surround Jacob, only the top of his head visible.

But nothing beats having the real Jacob around.
Jacob Anderson, in his own clothes but in Louis’s bloodied face makeup, stands in front of 4 crew members. His hands are in his pockets, and he’s smiling, illuminated by a film light.
