It's almost like intentionally fudging the lines between YA and adult books to chase adult readers wound up chasing actual teens out of YA while adult readers MOSTLY BOUGHT ADULT BOOKS. No amount of endpapers, foiling, spredges, etc is gonna change that dynamic.
