I have no dog in the fight with this Superbowl....but Kenneth Walker III is one of the best running backs I have seen in years. Fastest acceleration since Barry Sanders. Amazing fun to watch him work.
And that Uber Eats commercial using Elvis' Suspicious Minds made me clap and laugh.

The most fun you can have with Star Trek. It's silly. It's funny. It's actually one of the best of the 13 films. I actually place this one at #3 on my list. The more I watch it the more I love it.
And as a former Californian, I miss Winchell's Donuts SO much!
1/2
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.
Kirk: Mister Scott...have you always multiplied your repair estimates by a factor of four?
Scotty: Certainly, Sir. How else can I keep my reputation as a miracle worker?
Fun fact: My last boss called me Scotty because I do this.
Simply of the best sci-fi films ever made.
In 82, my step dad and I went to see Wrath of Khan - double feature with Beastmaster.....back then, they just ran the films all day. We walked in to this scene and had to sit through Beastmaster to find out what happened!
And....it's another "Elvis Movie" night!
Name that film!
Bonus points if you know who the fellow on the left in the second photo happens to be.....

If there is an asteroid out there that is about to mash into this planet...please land on Washington D.C.

Just finished "Sinners". Maybe a bit over-hyped and for some reason Ryan Coogler loves adding vulgarity to the dialog for no real reason....but it's a fun, well shot, well acted vampire film with some good delta blues. 4/5 for me simply because of the ending.
Nobody creates bizarre mystery better than Peter. He makes the weird feel almost cozy...right up until it very much isn’t.
And it's +100 when narrated by the amazing @realrayporter.bsky.social

At present, in Dayton, OH, it is 9° with a wind chill of 1°. Overnight, 2° and -10°
We are expecting 12" of snow and -20° this weekend.
Remind me why I live in this @#$%&! state?!?
I grew up in National City just south of San Diego 😫

Modern Trek producers would be incapable of making a Trek film or series with the intelligence and grace of TMP.

The answer to yesterday's post was "Tickle Me" from 1965. A hilarious and silly romp that doesn't take itself seriously. The whole end of the film plays out like a Scooby Doo episode too. Highly recommended.
As for my favorite Elvis song...

Okay movie nuts! I am watching another of Elvis' films tonight....one that contains my personal favorite of his songs. Anyone want to take a stab at the name of the film and guess the song?
And yes, that is Julie Adams of Creature From The Black Lagoon!

"You shall not pass!!!"
Been spending many hours (over seven so far) watching the extended cuts of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The Balrog of Morgoth is still one of the best creature designs in film history.
What are some others?

Observation: If you don't like Neelix, you're a jerk.
He kept up morale when the crew was at their lowest. He was resourceful; saving the crew from starving, finding supplies to keep them going, and helping navigate the quadrant. He was kind, loyal, and brave.
A top-notch character.

It all of the gazillion times I've watched the Back to the Future trilogy, I never noticed Marty trying out the thought reading machine....Always too busy watching Doc read the letter, I guess.
Oh, since I got the new LEGO Delorean, I am watching for the gazillionth plus one.
