What was it I was saying about cricket common sense and not sending England back out to bat and getting the Pakistan innings in!

Pakistan would have more than likely have won this game if they have had that common sense

We all know why they went there doesn’t mean it was the right choice, and has shown imo that she is going to be similar to before and have her favourites.
There isn’t a 50 over WC every year, they are right how they’ve gone this one, it’s next year onwards to look out for.

They were never going to transition 6 months before a World Cup, that’s madness going in without experience.
Knight and NSB are our best batters they should be at 3&4 not lower down the order. Neither of Dunkley or Capsey are top 4 batters

And if you want the team to be moving on there should have been a coach that hasn’t been involved and playing with some of the team.
Edwards has never been one I’ve been sold on and she’s not doing anything to change my mind right now

This is the last 50 over World Cup for 4/5 of them, they will be moving on in the one day game from next year, that was always going to be the case.
No one was ever expecting England to win this World Cup.

I’m still not sold on DWH in one day games but if she plays then she goes at 6 and Dunkley drops out.

I’m not looking at all, I’m looking at the vast amounts of womens cricket I watch across the country. There is not a better keeper in the country. Her primary job is to keep, as I’ve said the only one to match her right now is Threlkeld but her runs aren’t as good.

If you want to move on you need someone as good or better and Southby isn’t that.
Jones shouldn’t be opening and I’d have Lamb and Bouchier from next year.
Tammy did enough this season domestically and England colours to be there but this will be her last

She’s not untouchable but if you’re going to take her place you need to be better than the incumbent and you don’t have to do that in England colours ala Lamb this season
When you only have 15 player squad you’re not taking someone to sit around and not take a spot if someone is injured.

She has come on well and another couple of seasons like it she will be the likely contender, but not now and not when there is another WC at home in less than a year.

Just because she’s the only other option doesn’t make her the better option than dunkley.
And I say this as a DWH fan and not a huge fan of Dunkley.

Southby keeping isnt anywhere near the levels that Jones is even on her worst day.
If you’re going to move on you need to move on to something as good if not better and right now
Threlkeld is as good keeper but not batting
Southby is a lesser keeper & batter so it stays with Jones
