Everyone likes to talk about the 'six degrees of separation' when it comes to connections to famous people...

...but likes to ignore them when it comes to SARS2 chains of transmission.

We are all connected.

Until we remember this, we can't meaningfully protect anyone.

In reality, the argument needs to be made that the (willful) failure of Western journalists to stand up for, and in solidarity with, their Palestinian colleagues, is what signalled to the current administration that they could get away with this, too.

There is a direct line from MSM in the West ignoring (or endorsing via 'terrorist' labeling rhetoric) the record number of Palestinian journalists murdered by Isr*el since '23, to POC journos being targeted by the current Trump regime.

Everything that happens in Palestine will come home to roost.
Arresting Black journalists is also vice signaling. Their base is racist and hates journalists and they want to get them excited again. The mainstream media industry has never protected Black journalists or journalists of color the way it should.

It’s probably long past time to accept that Republicans aren’t spineless (in this regard), and thus being afraid to stand up to Trump isn’t why they aren’t stopping him/this.

They want this.

To them, this *is* doing the right thing, and they don’t *want* the ship to turn around.
It’s a long way off until November. Imagining how much worse it’s gonna get because republicans aren’t gonna have the guts to turn this ship around.

one day, 'civil liberties defenders' are going to become the elderly and/or disabled people they agreed could fall by the SARS2 wayside...

...and the kids whom they raised to dehumanize the old and disabled, and whom they *also* abandoned to SARS2, are going to dehumanize and abandon them, too.

“…will eat Canada alive, completely devour it, including the destruction of their businesses, social fabric, and general way of life.”

Every accusation is a confession.
It’s posts like this that make Canada and other countries want to do deals with China and leave the United States all alone. This is the language of an abusive ex.

“…war is upon you, whether you would risk it or not.”
Yes, well, we already had one civil war; we’re not sure we want another.

Yes.

And other criminals.
Trump is turning the United States into a sanctuary country for pedophiles.

...and I'm just wondering how @vsb39.bsky.social was unable to keep them at grade level with thousands of extra dollars, and thousands of instructional hours.

And now, because of that failure - and no gov't oversight - there's pressure to move them off diploma track, impacting their life, forever.

Right now, my funded child is unsupported.

But, at the exact same time, parents of undesignated kids report that they are told their kids won't receive any support without diagnosis and designation, because there's no funding for them.

So which is it?

. @vsb39.bsky.social likes to say that the funding disabled kids bring in is pooled, to support kids without funding.

I'm fine with sharing... but... sharing implies that both parties benefit, doesn't it?

And this district's constant use of the word inclusion, while actively excluding kids from their community schools, and also an actual education, is a performative sleight of hand, nothing more.

And no checks and balances from your gov't @davidebybc.bsky.social @nikisharma.bsky.social means that...

I don't know who needs to hear this (I do, I'm being sarcastic), but the word inclusion =/= *Inclusive Education*.

Forcing disabled kids to go to schools outside of their communities, and away from friends/family - for the benefit of district only - is NOT inclusion, let alone Inclusive Education.

That school *has* a designated to support disabled students, like them, to do so.

But the district limits enrolment in programs like it, and this year, is cutting other programs - meaning that pressure on remaining programs will be higher.

So now, it's the education hunger games.

...are we now also ready to talk about people no longer using (Generative)AI for shits & giggles (arguably a v v handy tool of fascism), or nah?

Because... using AI only aids & abets ppl like Musk, AND helps to kill people & the planet at the same time.

This is what you all endorsed when you agreed that the value of a life was less than brunch, and didn’t care if high risk people bore the brunt of “profit over people” policies (many from 'Left' gov'ts).

The pandemic broke a leaky dam.

And most chose selfishness over solidarity.
The EPA will no longer consider how many lives are saved when setting pollution limits, the New York Times reports. Instead, it will consider the cost to businesses of complying with clean air regulations.

You'll note, here, that the district rolls out the red carpet for "high achieving" (I'm using that term, under duress) learners, via mini schools and other programs, while disabled kids lose supports and programs.

Heck, mini school students can tour their programs in advance - disabled kids can't.

How many other disabled kids in this city (and, ultimately, the prov) face the same?

WHERE IS ALL OF THAT MONEY GOING?!

And, why are disabled kids bearing a lifetime burden d/t adults refusing to meet their responsibilities?
