It’s a dark time, but still I remain resilient. I hope all of you are doing well, and hope that we can return to brighter times in the future. For now though, you are all beautiful and precious, in ways intrinsic and immovable. Happy Trans Day of Visibility.

After a years long campaign to denigrate and delegitimize trans youth, the New York Times finds a new target: ADHD and Anxiety in kids. Come here for musings about how we had education right in the 50s and attempted legitimization of RFK Jr’s agenda.

Only time I see a black trans woman pop up in general trans discourse it’s either about how she’s problematic or dead.

I wish we could go back to transvestism being included under the transgender umbrella so people would stop wasting time arguing about definitions, categories and belonging.

“THE NON-ARTIST FIXATION ON HYPERREALISM AS THE PINNACLE OF ART IS CLEARLY PART OF THE REASON SO MANY ADULTS THINK THEY CANNOT DRAW OR CONSIDER THEMSELVES TO BE FAILURES, KAWAII, FOLK ART, DOODLES, OR OTHER EASIER ENTRY POINTS ARE CONSIDERED CHILDISH, WHICH IS WHY JAPANESE DRAWING BOOKS ARE BETTER…”

In other news, a nearby hospital is closing because the company that acquired it from bankruptcy wants it to fail so they can build apartment towers overlooking the cliffs. Jersey City, with an estimated population of over 300,000, will have only one hospital when that happens.

Dudes be moving like they’re gonna catch trans cooties.

I've had a lot of inertia moving between trans and parent social spaces. Parent relationships are oftentimes utilitarian. My kid plays with your kid so we have a relationship of facilitation. There's not really an openness in that in the same way that I find in trans spaces.

Something that I find really troubling about our age of AI, is that good outcomes or positive contributions are so easily, often times falsely, attributed to AI rather than to the worker who produced it. This'll be especially true for Women, POC—black people especially, and queer people.

My millennial ass still worries about not doing enough performative professionalism on social media, because that’s the fucked expectations I started my career in.

The punditry excitement about MTG reminds me of those MAGA wives for Kamala ads from the election. It’s this belief and desire of wooing white women to the party that overrides every other guiding principle of what Democrats are supposed to stand for.

A trans woman talks about how she lactates and transphobes roll in with ignorance about women’s bodies in general.

People have a hard time quantifying that 1% of a population is still a lot of people. That’s one in a hundred. That’s 3,000 people in my city of 300,000. People just absolutely flabbergasted that statistically they’ve been in spaces with trans people and just never realized it.

I’m old enough that I’m soon going to have to take over Thanksgiving. So I’m starting out by trying to get my cornbread recipe on point for a Friendsgiving tomorrow.

My son practices a trans inclusive sort of gender essentialism where both I and his other mom get to color in the girl sonic characters, while he draws in the boy ones.

As an aside, you can tell that trans women are not qualified as men by this standard as there is no standard to which trans women are cast to the role of protector.
Under patriarchy, men gain power from their ability to regulate and control women—and anyone not perceived as men—through the dual roles of predator and protector. I think this framework is ultimately why we aren’t going to see Trump’s downfall from the Epstein files.
