It's the same thing in Webtoon spaces, especially if we're talking about Webtoon the platform itself. It seems they're mostly interested in picking up comics that do well by themselves, that they know will sell well prior to picking them up, so they don't have to bother marketing them too much.

Yep, Tik Tok is definitely easier to handle when you create visual content. I guess some authors manage but they do it by showing their faces and creating some sort of lifestyle/author vlog type of content from what I've seen 🤔

But yep you're absolutely right, marketing's a nightmare 😮‍💨

Insta also isn't favorable to newcomers, so all that's really left is Tik Tok? And yeah it's starting to work a bit for me but the audience reached can be a bit too young sometimes imo

The reasons to keep boycotting Twitter are many but ngl, it's hard to resist the temptation sometimes when you have something to promote and you know a lot of the people who would be interested are over there 😮‍💨

I find growing an audience on Bluesky almost impossible without a pre-existing following

Completely agree with you. I'd understand if Jaekyung's past made him wary of people and yeah, acting like an asshole towards stranger might be justified then, but being an abuser and a rapist?? That can't be excused.
