Can't see him lasting long
jallumi.bsky.social
I don't know if that connection is true. May be it is for some.
Personally, I'm not in favour of ID cards nor expelling foreigners from the country.
jallumi.bsky.social
...and limiting the lives of the leaders! 😮
jallumi.bsky.social
This had already been decided.
Trump was too late for this year, so he'll continue his tedious campaign into next year, no doubt.
jallumi.bsky.social
Sorry, what's the Streisand effect?
jallumi.bsky.social
No, you don't have to, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
If you're introduced to someone you suspect is trans, out of politeness & respect, you'd address them by the name you're told. We don't see birth certificates, chromosome analysis or genitals, so we accept they're who they say they are.

If birth sex becomes the criterion, the outcome will be that any trans people who were using the ponds will stop as they'll feel unwelcome & fear a confrontation.
It's another sorry step on the path to the erasure of trans people in public life, which is what the government seem to be aiming for.

Deep sigh.
This is my final comment as you're never going to accept the facts & I don't have any more time to waste.
Trans women are women. Trans men are men. You have to accept people are who they say they are as there's no way of checking.
Your classic GC suggestion of a 3rd space is unworkable.

I don't think anyone's disagreeing with you (apart from Farage, naturally)
jallumi.bsky.social
That's absolutely the last thing that the UK needs now, to be 'saved' by MAGA US.
Hopefully Trump's 'America First' policy will put paid to that ludicrous idea.
Keep away from our country.
jallumi.bsky.social
None of it is an excuse to vilify & exclude trans people.
jallumi.bsky.social
...it's not for the rest of us to judge
4 cis men are the greatest danger to women, usually in the home. They don't have to pretend to be women in order to access women. It's a lie promoted by GCs that trans women are sexual predators, when they're just normal people trying to live their lives.
Ciao

I don't have time in my life to reply to all your points. I'll just say: 1 the current situation has worked well for many years & there was no call for change
2 Sex Matters are creating an issue where there doesn't need to be one
3 everyone is who they say they are...
jallumi.bsky.social
Yes of course, they can say anything they like at this stage.
Not even worth reporting by the press, it's all fantasy.
jallumi.bsky.social
Will the nightmare never end for this couple?
jallumi.bsky.social
Non-binary folk may not look like either sex nor identify as their birth sex. Where should they swim?
The current arrangement has worked well for years, trusting people to swim in the pool matching their chosen gender.
This issue has only arisen bc transphobic Sex Matters want to make it one.
jallumi.bsky.social
That's exactly my argument against using birth sex as a criterion, as I explained already. If birth sex is the determining factor then trans men have to swim with cis women. Malevolent cis men could then use the pool too, claiming they're trans men.
That's why birth sex isn't a workable option.

Robert needs to speak up, they're not listening
jallumi.bsky.social
Same here.
They're caught up in their own bubble and can't see it objectively. In the future, when this time has passed, people will look back with amazement that we voted these people in & allowed it to happen. In the same way today we look back on the Salem Witch Trials.
jallumi.bsky.social
We don't have to have lived through it to understand what's happening now.
Anyone who knows any history of the 20th Century can see it.
It's valuable to hear from those with lived experience, though.
jallumi.bsky.social
You need to ask yourself that question.
You've repeated exactly what I said.
If trans men are forced to use the women's pool, then there's nothing to stop the occasional cis-man rapist joining them, is there?
Which is why the whole birth-sex thing is unworkable.
jallumi.bsky.social
No, you won't. If you have an inclusive women-only pool you'll have cis & trans women swimming together. Likewise, cis & trans men in the men's pool.
Women won't see men swimming with them, only other women.
Get it?
jallumi.bsky.social
Good ol' Tarzan, we should hear more from him.
jallumi.bsky.social
The logic problem is that by restricting the ponds to birth sex, then women can expect to see men swimming amongst them. These men may or may not be trans but you'll have no way of knowing.
That's potentially a more threatening situation than GCs are trying to avoid, i.e. including trans women.
