This was a bit of a special one , two years late, finally got my chance to see the incredible Myriam Gendron playing at a packed out Trades Club. Here’s a glimpse from a Michael Chapman cover ’You Say. Beautiful guitar and voice. One for the ages ✨

they were openly complaining to each other how quiet it was , I was muttering

thing is I wanted this, even considered going back to argue a case for halving the asking price, but urgh can’t but might have a panic attack if I go back in there

I hate record fairs , they’re a rip off, they stink and they make me claustrophobic, this is a £25 record that the guy had £60 on. Went to another couple of other stalls see a couple of bits wouldn’t have minded £50/60 albums priced at £100+. Couldn’t even be arsed after that just went home.

Yeah but what about 3 x angled laughing face to emphasise how funny your own jokes are ?

heard a couple of tracks off this in a record shop the other day and asked if it was the recent Making of Five Leaves Left, anyway it wasn’t it was this and I didn’t ask to take it coz it sounded too good to interrupt , but i did find myself a copy today elsewhere and now it sounds good in my house

properly stunning, nothing else to say.

may well be listening to the best album i've heard all year

Didn’t intentionally time the week off work to coincide with the Necks releasing their new 3 hour plus album but this is the scene where this is now unfolding and it’s feeling a wise choice 🎵 ☕️ 🍂

Ah I don’t know what to tell you. I like Sonic Youth and I like Prefab Sprout.

I mean I still buy as many records but not as many from the year I’m living through at the time if that makes sense. The internet offers too many distractions into the past for that to be the case now i think. Never used to get lost for weeks on end listening to early/mid 60s Blue Notes for example

formative years I suppose though maybe why. Have no issue declaring Kula Shaker rubbish despite buying it

Still buy a lot of music of course but I was looking at the shelves other day & late 90s/early 00s was my real time buying peak & it dwarfs all other eras (Discogs tells me I have 85 CDs/vinyl from 1997 - aged 16/17) so I think there’s truth to this. I also still feel huge attachment to a lot of it

50 years (and 2 spins tonight) later can confirm this still sounds like some of the best music ever made on Planet Earth
