The inequality in our transit system is evident every day to people riding into our city on the Seattle Light Rail. I am committed to working in partnership with SDOT and Sound Transit to address this issue and enhance the safety of transit travel in South Seattle.

Our campaign is calling on the city to implement *immediate* safety improvements on Rainier. There have been 1,500 injury and fatality crashes on this street over the last decade. This is unacceptable. South Seattle deserves safe streets.

Corporate interests have consistently opposed social housing in Seattle. I not only helped campaign and voted for Prop 1A, but I will continue to fight for the full implementation of social housing in Seattle as a member of the City Council. #GiveAFack

As a union shop steward, I see decisions that impact workers without consulting them. My approach will be the union organizational model. Let's determine how government can perform the necessary work. If it can't, let's work together to change the laws. But we're going to do it together. #GiveaFack

“The Democracy Voucher program is great,” Fackler said. “It really means that we’ve got to get out there and talk to the voters to get the vouchers, so it really drives engagement from the candidates and campaigns to voters, which is critical.”
Democracy Vouchers make dent with young voters, candidates
Despite low usage, supporters say the program can incentivize candidates to take young voters' concerns seriously and can help improve turnout.

People who #GiveAFack about South Seattle see why Jamie Fackler is the fighter District 2 needs on the City Council.
"Jamie is exactly the kind of person we need at city hall; a union worker, a dad, and a person devoted to the well-being and shared prosperity of his community. Jamie's values are rooted in the solidarity that should guide all of us and his leadership moves people to action. I'm proud to endorse Jamie Fackler for City Council." - King County Councilmember Teresa Mosqueda "Jamie Fackler is a progressive elected Union leader from a working class background. This point of view is not represented in policymaking at City Hall. I have dedicated my life to civil rights, advocating for people marginalized in our community. Longtime neighbor Jamie Fackler will carry forth my vision for District 2." - Former King County Councilmember Larry Gossett "Jamie is not going to roll over to do whatever the council president wants or whatever the mayor wants. He's going to do what the people of this district need him to do." - Former District 2 Councilmember Tammy Morales "I’m proud to endorse Jamie Fackler for City Council. Jamie is a fierce advocate for working people and a proven labor leader who knows how to fight for fair wages, workers’ rights, and economic justice. He brings the grit, heart, and experience our communities need at City Hall." - King County Democrats Vice Chair of Outreach Andrew Ashiofu

Corporate donors are spending big to attack our campaign. We have something money can’t buy, though: people!

Vote and turn in those ballots, and, if you have time, canvass or phonebank for our campaign.

This is your city!

Jamie Fackler's campaign has a lot in common with Shrek. It's about standing up for people in Seattle who have been pushed out and pushed aside because of wealthy interests. It's about saying I #GiveAFack about where I live and those who live around me.

Disappointed to see The Seattle Times editorial board leave me out of their article on the candidates for the D5 appointment yesterday. I get that I might not be their typical pick, but excluding me entirely still feels like a stretch.
Seattle City Council should choose a fresh face for District 5 seat | Editorial
In appointing a new D5 representative, the Seattle City Council can move forward with fresh faces or slide backward. It ought to go with a new approach.
