One of my favorite old photos is this one, of a southern ringneck snake. These #snakes show off their bright undersides when threatened, and this one made two perfect loops with its body and tail while being photographed.

I have the same complaint. I follow so many great herpetologists and herp photographers on Instagram. Not having that here has really limited my Bluesky experience so far.

Most of the tricolored herons I came across were flighty or in terrible lighting, so it was cool to watch this one catching fish and to get this close up action shot.
