Doesn’t look like the shopkeeper is very friendly…

…and he doesn’t blink.

I love how this turned out! Even though it’s not quite the game’s usual style, I think I’ll keep it that way and eventually adjust the rest of the game to match. I really like these visuals!

The first prototype of the 3D pixelated boss turned out so well that I’m seriously considering changing the whole game’s visual style to match it.

Not sure if I should tho, it might end up being an INSANE amount of lost time, i'll think about it.

I want to experiment with the idea of making the bosses 3D, pixelated of course.

It could make them feel bigger and more unique without breaking the game’s style.

Not sure yet, but I kinda like the idea.

Reworked how battles are resolved!

Previously, healing would happen first, followed by attacks. Now, attacks trigger first, and healing comes last.

Also, added coins and little animations for the numbers when healing!

It might seem obvious, but I just realized how cool the game looks with custom mouse cursor. #pixelart #roguelike #gamedev

Experimenting with evolving enemies: meet THE LARVAE.

Leave it alive for a few turns and it evolves into a fly.

Simple mechanic, but changes how you plan your moves.

I was testing status effects (like venom), and I don’t know what I touched, but apparently now you transform into a mini shield whenever you add one to your actions list.

Gamedev is definitely a thing.

I like when actions appear one by one, but after lots of battles it might feel slow, so maybe I have to make them appear all at once.

What do you think?

Yep, I'm pretty new, but I THINK I know how it works. Basically if there's no background (or transparent pixels) it draws whatever it was on screen to fill it, right?
It happened because I had a background sprite with transparency, I just needed to add another background layer below with a flat color

After weeks of development, all the gameplay mechanics are implemented and the game is now playable! 🎉

This clip shows a combat round in action: turn-based decisions, action pool, and special abilities all working together!
