This morning, President Trump and Secretary Hegseth spoke to 800 high-ranking generals and admirals who had been called away from their stations around the world. At the meeting, Trump said he’d told Hegseth he should use American cities as “training grounds” for the military. 1/6

This morning’s spectacle at Quantico is a masterclass in narcissism and waste. Hegseth forced hundreds of our nation’s top GOFOs to abandon their commands to sit through his juvenile pep talk and an incoherent rant. All while the governement barrels toward a shutdown.

Pathetic.

When the President misuses our servicemembers, he weakens both the rule of law and the public’s trust in those who wear the uniform.

The National Guard and our armed forces exist to protect the nation from external threats and to assist communities in times of true emergency- not to carry out law enforcement or serve political agendas.

Today’s ruling underscores a fundamental principle: our military is not a domestic police force.

Trump administration use of National Guard in L.A. violated law, judge rules
The judge sharply reprimanded the Trump administration for its use of troops during immigration actions. He also stayed his ruling until next week.

Tyrants govern through fear. Dictators take their power from the acquiescence of the good people who don't speak out. It is our obligation as citizens to set aside fear and take a step forward not a step back.

Pritzker: Trump looked at the cameras and asked for me personally to say, Mr. President, can you do us the honor of protecting our city? Instead, I say, Mr. President, do not come to Chicago.

Your remarks about this effort have betrayed a continuing slip in your mental faculties

“I don’t want to speculate what’s in his brain, but just taking the evidence as it is — what he said during the Black Lives Matter protests; the fact that he’s taking this maximalist approach to deploying troops—he is eager to create escalatory situations.”

THREAD: This morning, President Trump and members of his cabinet announced a set of sweeping, unprecedented, and unwarranted actions to impose federal control over local policing in Washington, D.C.

Service members are not political pawns. They are trained to defend the nation, not to be marched into partisan PR stunts to flatter the President's ego. Using them this way corrodes trust, weakens the force, & turns our military into a political prop. It's deeply un-American.

We are told that resources are scarce. Republicans in Congress passed a bill that will take health care away from millions and close hospitals. We are told there's not enough funding for veterans’ health care. 30,000 VA workers have been fired .

But there is funding for this?

Trump already sent National Guard troops to Los Angeles for a situation that even the Chief of the LAPD said didn’t require a military response.

It was unnecessary, expensive, and wasted valuable resources.

Military deployments: coming soon to a city near you.

This is all part of a disturbing pattern. Trump is remaking the military as a personal tool of control, overriding the core principles of civilian oversight. And he won't stop with DC.

It all makes sense when you realize who Vance and Rubio are loyal to: Big Tech & the Military Industrial Complex.

Shareholders have much to gain from the world becoming more dangerous. So of course! Gut the State Dpet. Give handouts to Starlink and other DoD grifters.

After all, war is a racket.

And please spare me the "drain the swamp" arguments when this administration just doubled down on giving fistfuls of cash to defense contractors like Boeing and Lockheed ....all while increasing the deficit.

If you actually want to stay out of forever wars, you need strong diplomacy - not just military force.
