It was a pleasure to attend #MIW2024 miw2024.org in Monterey, USA!

Before, I had processed ROV video & identified bottlenose dolphins & measured colour of propagules off photographs. This is my 2nd workshop involving marine imagery.

I look forward to using some of these techniques in the future!

I'm happy to report that my contract has been extended to the end of December!

I am currently working on a grant proposal for a different project!

I will mainly be working in a team to build traitORS, an open source database for conservation and management of the Canadian Offshore Pacific Bioregion!

🧪🦑 On the way up from the skate nursery on Day 5, our @roposrov.bsky.social Team sprung to action when they spotted and managed to catch video of a Gonatus squid brooding its eggs!

I finally got my MED-A3/SDV-BS & ROC-M certifications! SVOP is next month.

I learned a lot AND got to watch the cold water video from my time at Bamfield MSC for at least the 4th time in my life!

I am happy to begin new contract work with Fisheries and Oceans Canada, which will last from early Feb to late Mar!

My work will involve data extraction, calculations & preliminary advanced statistical analyses, which will contribute to management of the invasive green crab, Carcinus maenus.
