Janet Mills
@janetmillsforme.bsky.social
Maine's first woman District Attorney, Attorney General, and Governor. A fighter and winner. Running for the U.S. Senate to stand up for the people of Maine.
I’ve dedicated my life to protecting Maine people — as District Attorney, as Attorney General, as Governor, and next, as Senator.

I cannot — and will not — sit idly by while Maine people are hurt. I will continue to fight.

When health care tax credits expire, it’s working people who pay the price. Maine deserves leadership that protects affordable health care — not let premiums soar because of inaction.

Wishing everyone across Maine a happy Thanksgiving. As we take time to appreciate life’s blessings, I’m grateful for this beautiful state and the wonderful people who call it home.

Grateful to spend some time ahead of Thanksgiving volunteering at Preble Street’s Food Security Hub. Maine people always show up for one another – and that’s something I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving.

America is at a crisis point – and every single day Donald Trump and Susan Collins plunge us further into chaos and hurt more Maine people.

We cannot afford to lose this election. I'm the only Maine Democrat to win statewide in 20 years – I know how to win and next year, I will.

Proud to join Maine’s hospitality leaders at the Hospitality Maine Summit this past Monday.

Our hospitality industry is an integral part of our economy – and I’m grateful to the hardworking folks who keep it strong, season after season.

I’m the granddaughter of potato farmers from Aroostook County and the daughter of a World War II veteran and a public school teacher. Maine values are in my bones.

And we’re going to win this race—together.

Never a dull moment at a UMaine game! Very cool to meet Trevor, Jamil, and Mike—proud UMaine grads who went on to play in the NFL (and even win a few Super Bowls)!

The idea that ending the shutdown on a promise of a discussion of a vote doesn’t mean much to the people of Maine. Getting it done does. That’s why I’m running for the U.S. Senate.
November 17, 2025 at 4:52 PM
I love Maine and its people. That's why as governor, I expanded health care to more than 100,000 people, guaranteed free school meals for children, protected abortion access, provided free community college, and more.

I'm proud to bring that same fight to the Senate.

Let me make something very clear — Susan Collins is contributing to skyrocketing health care costs for families across Maine. It’s reckless and just plain wrong.

We will vote her out in 2026.
November 14, 2025 at 2:41 PM
The government shutdown was an example of just how cruel Republicans could be to deny health care and take away food from hungry families. While the shutdown is over, the dysfunction in Trump's Washington remains. Congress must extend the ACA tax credits now.
November 13, 2025 at 11:32 PM
The people of Maine are dealing with skyrocketing health care costs on top of increased grocery prices on top of housing on top of more expensive car repairs thanks to Trump’s tariffs. Maine people can’t afford Donald Trump and Susan Collins.
November 13, 2025 at 6:49 PM
Maine people are not a political bargaining chip. These are real families whose lives depend on affordable health coverage. Susan Collins’ vote against extending the ACA tax credits is a betrayal of hardworking Maine families.

On Veterans Day, we pause to honor and thank those who have served in the Armed Forces, like my father and brother.

Maine has one of the highest numbers of veterans per capita of any state—a reflection of our long and proud history of service. Thank you to those who’ve served.
November 11, 2025 at 5:05 PM
Thank you Franklin County Dems for having me last night. Everywhere I go, I hear from people worried about putting food on the table or skyrocketing health care costs.

Maine deserves better than what we're getting out of DC. I'll fight with all I've got to make sure we get it.
November 10, 2025 at 8:13 PM
Tens of thousands of Maine people are facing skyrocketing health care costs because of Donald Trump and Susan Collins.

Maine people deserve affordable health care — not just the promise of a vote that won’t go anywhere.

Fight back.

The dysfunction in Washington is so extreme, they can't seem to get two things done in one month—extend the tax credits and pass the continuing resolution.

Let America go to work again. And if they can't get this done, they should go without pay. www.foxbangor.com/news/governo...

Republicans in Congress are creating an unnecessary crisis. They control the House, the Senate, and the White House.

Fund SNAP. Extend health care tax credits. End the shutdown now.

Congratulations to my good friends @abigailspanberger.com and @mikiesherrill.bsky.social for their historic wins last night! Your campaigns have been inspiring, and I know both of you will serve your states with strength, courage, and conviction.

Next year's election is one of the most important moments in our nation's history. We are in urgent, dangerous times. Donald Trump isn't just taking a wrecking ball to the White House, he's taking a wrecking ball to the Constitution and our democracy.

I won't let that happen.

If you're an older Mainer or a single parent, someone with a disability, or someone with a busy schedule, Question 1 would only make it harder for you to cast your vote.

That's why I voted no on Question 1 today!

Huge turnout at the Sagadahoc County Democrats Harvest Dinner this weekend! Folks are fired up to protect Maine voting and vote NO on Question 1!

In exactly one year, we are going to defeat Susan Collins, win this race, and flip this Senate seat.
